Stress, stress, stress!

Yesterday it was my dad's birthday. We didn't throw a major party, just a few members of the family and close friends were invited. Every single year, my mom starts shouting through the house, commanding us to do all sorts of stuff because she thinks she's doing everything? Then, after doing a whole list of stuff..I have to see what I want to be wearing for when the guests would come. And of course, I had absolutely n-o-t-h-I-n-g to wear!! It was disastrous!! Jeans are too casual, my black trousers were still hanging out to dry, my army print pants..well, that's not appropriate at all!! And so...I was left with a pair of white trousers. White trousers...I still have nightmares of having to wear them and then at the end of an evening..to find out that you're wearing the wrong color underwear that completely shows under your pants. Well, yesterday, I was determined to not let that nightmare become real-life. So there I was..my mom still shouting about things I apparently forgot to do..a clock which told me I only had 4 minutes left to get ready, white trousers and a whole drawer full of bright pink underwear. Luckily, I found some red underwear! Red doesn't show under white!!! Quickly, I then popped on a cute purple top, beautiful black stiletto's, mascara, blusher and a bit of lip-gloss. So, in those 4 minutes I was able to show up in a pretty cute outfit! Never, had I felt so proud of myself. In the end, we had a lot of fun and my dad had a great birthday, and that's what counts of course! Although it was fun in the end, I'm happy that it's over.

Am I the only one who has to deal with these kind of situations every special occasion? If so, if anyone has any advice to make these days easier...I'm dying to know!

That's it for now..have to go to another dinner tonight, so the whole drama can start again..

How to: Hairstyle

It's best to have this hairstyle done by a friend as it might become some-what tricky doing it on your own!

  • After your friend towel-dries your hair, apply volumizing spray. While blow-drying, grab sections of her hair from underneath with a large round brush, concentrating the hot air on the roots.

  • Wrap 1- to 2-inch sections or hair around a medium-barrel curling iron, only curling 3/4 of the way up. Finger out hair onto loose waves, then give a few spritzes of flexible hold spray.

  • For extra lift, tease hair on top of her head, then comb over lightly to smooth section out. Starting at eye level, twist back three small sections from each side and secure with a bobby pin. Finish with gloss spray for shine.

And there you have it, a beautiful hair-style. Perfect for when going to a prom or a party!

The foolproof way to create a smoky-eyed look:
To begin, apply your eye make-up before applying your base (foundation, concealer and pressed powder). This way, anymistakes can easily be repaired afterwards without fear of wiping away your foundation.
Then, begin by applying a taupe shade as a neutral base colour over your eyelids. Using a kohl pencil, draw along the inner rims of your eyes and along your lash line and smudge to soften. If you have small eyes, only apply pencil to the outer two thirds of the eye, but if your eyes are large, trace the whole rim. Strengthen the kohl by applying a line of powder eyeshadow in the same colour over the top. This wil set the kohl so that it lasts longer.
Apply a coloured eyeshadow along the socket and outer corner of the lid to create definition and contour. Mak sure you blend, blend, blend!!
Finish by curling your lashes, then apply loads of mascara to your upper and lower lashes for a dramatic effect.
It still takes a tiny bit of practise, but when you've got the hang of it..you'll never want anything else!

Loving this Picture!

Sunday, September 24, 2006

I had an AWFULL day today, oh my gosh. I just had to shop..but the shops were closed as it's sunday(Here in holland the shops don't ever open on a sunday..). In the morning I could kind of get it out of my head u know..but then it like, turned 1 o'clock in the afternoon and i went absolutely crazy!! I just HAD to shop. I haven't shopped in like a week. I was thinking of all the cute clothes waiting to be bought and all the sweet shops waiting to be filled with shopping-crazed women. And then to think, it was all deserted today. Nobody there, nothing to do.

Ridiculous.

Conclusion: Sunday is seriously the most boring day of the week.

Now, I have truly experienced the feeling, of being a desperate shopping addict...

God, life is hard..

Loving it!
Omg, new developement in the world of fashion..!! I was watching the news the other day and saw that models with a BMI lower than 18 won't be allowed to model anymore. People are apparently getting tired of models being too skinny. Must really suck, if you're a perfectly healthy model and your Body Mass Index is lower than 18! I personally, do not agree with this rule. I mean, the fashion world IS al about extremes. The clothes look best on the skinny models, anyway, that's how I feel about it..Tell me what you think people!
